Akers does have to work a lot on ball security. Fumbling is a problem for him.

I like that he has a different style than Henderson, for sure.

You made the call about Akers before I did. I just piggybacked on your pick. I only looked up his video because you mentioned his name.

I see a platoon as well. Akers in between the tackles and Henderson on the edges, both can play in the pass game. Brown can bring the thunder with his size. Will see how it goes, still a bit of a luxury for the rams

Who knows anything for sure but when we drafted Henderson there was a lot of talk from the Rams about him and Gurley being a pretty dangerous tandem. Gurley is gone so makes sense you'd want another back if they were serious about that.

But that's only one possible scenario. We'll see...

The more I read, and the more (informed) opinions I see on Akers the happier I am with this pick. If our O-line does actually show significant growth and development and can open some holes for him he might just ball out!! If McVay does the team a solid and designs a handful of 2 back plays Hendo and Akers are going to make it hell for defenses to stop the run.

He had 261 touches last season and 3 fumbles.

Doesn’t seem like an insurmountable problem to me.

As far as to why we took Cam over Dobbins, I went back to read some stuff written after the combine.
Cam had a 4.47 forty (Dobbins didn't run it at the combine); and is considered the better receiver as Dobbins, while elite in pass pro, is not considered to have a lot of receiving talent. I'm guessing that is why we took him over Dobbins. Also, Dobbins had one of the top Olines and Cam ran behind what many have said was a terrible Oline. ESPN wrote Cam was the most underrated of the RB's too.
