We're here....reading....watching....and looking at a glass that is definitely half empty. Let's just say we're quietly waiting...waiting for a coach to evolve/adjust/adapt. The optimist in me wants it to happen quickly; the fan in me wants it to happen yesterday, but the realist in me doesn't know if it will ever happen the way it needs to or at the pace that will enable him to keep his job.

Was the win nice - absolutely. I didn't drink, I didn't yell at the TV, and I didn't get to a frustration level higher than about 4 out of 10.

But lets be honest, the glass is not half full at this point in the season because Goff was going up against the worst passing defense in the league today. Was anyone confident that he could have a 400 yard passing day today? Do you trust Goff next week against a better D? I sure don't.

Henderson is faster than Gurley: I still don't understand why Henderson and Gurley can't be on the field at the same time. I still don't understand why we throw 4 WR screens with 25% of them being successful, and that was pretty darn lucky that Woods was able to do that cut back. On the bright side - I think we ran 3 or 4 draws out of the gun today. Maybe the Rams' statistics department figured out how to leave a message on coach's voicemail. And hey...Higbee actually earned that big payday today. Maybe it's been Goff's fault for not throwing it to him until week 10. Mental note, use TE's more.

Frustration Level = less than last week.

Whadda ya mean "we're"? Are ya on a different side?
anyway . . .

Agreed that McV appears to be slow at evolving to what has evolved against him. Stubborn? or just maintaining the deceptive, 'tough read at the LOS' formations?
Credit,, it took almost 2 seasons to slow it down. Not stopped, but slowed.
Not so much credit, the bad looks since 'the problem' started.

Today showed me that the Goff kid is better than most when against an average to decent D. Nice number today..!
Not sure our o-line is as far off as we think.
At least not against the Cards. We seem to have their number. Wonder if it's a StL thing?

The ball was coming out quicker. And hey, the intermediate crossers and deep dig routes WORK. When Goff has time. Now, does McVay have enough in the quick strike game when the pressure is more intense - like it is sure to be next week?

We will see. Running the damn ball helps a ton.

Henderson is not faster than Gurley. A little quicker. But not faster.

I don’t see how a team that just demolished their opponent, are 7-5 and in the playoff hunt has a glass that is half-empty. It’s not like they won 9-6 for Pete’s sake. They smoked the Cards and Goff, McVay, the O line all looked good and did their jobs well.

Good win and nice to see offense worked when Goff rolled and tight end got more involved.

No...not on a different side. Just having pessimist tendencies that I need to get over.

I was referring to this comment when I said we're still here:
And notice that all the negative Nancys aren’t here after this win.

Gurley 40 yd dash time = 4.52s (combine)
Henderson = 4.49s (combine)
Adding to this...yes Henderson is faster than Gurley, just rewind and push play on today's tape. You'll see burst and speed, greater than Gurley.

With the inconsistencies on both sides of the ball, I don't see how the glass is half full at this point. Do I want this to change, absolutely. I don't consider myself a pessimist, however how can we choke on the Steelers, how can we not run a slant route when the middle of the field is wide open? Ya...the glass is absolutely half empty. The last 2 years of performance has risen the bar for our fan base. We expect evolution, we expect adaptation, we expect adjustment when something isn't working. And we're not getting that. A good coach would provide that at a pace faster than losing to the Steelers after a bye week. I just don't see optimism right now. The Arizona game doesn't provide warm and fuzzy feelings, it just proves that Peterson and Fitz are older than Weddle.

No doubt. Good post. I'm a realist more than a pessimist but sometimes they are the same thing. ;)

The playoffs are a pipe dream at this point, even if they run the table. I'll watch all the games to see what the young guys got for next season but to me 9-7 won't have the feeling of improvement that it normally would.

Gurley Omaha been tracked as one of the fastest players in the NFL. DURING GAMES. Henderson looks quicker burst-wise. When Gurley hits stride he is fast. Very fast. And I bet faster than Henderson.

I don’t believe he ran at the combine. Coming off the ACL injury.
