Gerald McCoy says team 'did not expect' Case Keenum's performance

While there's plenty to take away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 31-23 loss to the St. Louis Rams in Week 15, one thing that definitely seemed to catch the team off guard was the play of Case Keenum. The starting quarterback for the Rams posted a nearly perfect quarterback rating, completing 14 of 17 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns.

When Gerald McCoy was asked about it, he admitted that the team didn't expect Keenum to put together that type of showing.

“That’s something we did not expect," Tampa Bay defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. "I don’t think they ran the ball ... the plays they ran wasn’t anything we hadn’t seen before. The passes, I don’t know. I’ve really got to go watch it to see what happened. I don’t know, I really don’t.”

McCoy likely wasn't the only one, as Keenum was money in Thursday night's victory. Can he keep it going over the final two games in 2015? One thing that's certain is that St. Louis has to at least be intrigued by his growth.
