laram wrote:So the refs swallowed their whistles the ENTIRE game, so the fact they did not make a call on the last play did not surprise ME.

It was indicative of the entire game.

Vinovich and his crew made an over correction!

the only thing you'll notice after a "re-watch or two..." is business as usual in terms of penalties, i.e. around 10 combined penalties or so, give or take a couple, and around 85 combined penalty yards, give or take 15 or so, how that equates to "whistle swallowing for the ENTIRE game" is beyond me.

here's a look at combined average penalties and penalty yards per game for the 2000-2018 stretch (regular season, and each playoff round), for 2018 alone, and a look at the penalties for the rams/saints game - so are we to believe something out of the ordinary took place in the rams/saints game in terms of penalties? really?

If you honestly think the officiating was skewed in the Rams’ favor over the course of the game, you clearly have a bias against this team.

So tell us...and be honest...what team are you actually a fan of?

Seriously, he has a Ram fan handle but he posts like anything but a Ram fan!! It's that old axiom, he'd rather be right than see the Rams win.

FWIW, Cooks and Watkins had equally good games.
Ceramic Sammy 4 - 114 , 0 TDs
Cooks 7 - 107 , 0 TDs

Seems like his all important, be all to end all catagories were empty for both!!!! But I'm sure Ceramic Sammy blocked waaaaay better than Cooks!!!!

I couldn't get over the Rams fans Fox fixed on after the Kick was good. A family of about 5 people, raw emotion and joy. It was so cool. They were front row behind Rams bench. Loved it.

Hacksaw wrote:@laram, this post now shows a pattern. You are digging far deeper into finding fault in the Rams than you are attempting to be thorough. Or at least you are putting a negative spin.

But you were spot on about the refs letting the players decide the outcome.

Agree. The basic premise is correct. The refs were letting them play. No need to overdo it on the bad stuff the Rams did. Both teams did plenty of stuff.

And we all saw it. It’s no startling revelation.

Reasonable take, a1.

The overreacting that’s going on in the media is absurd.

People want to redo the game. Ok. From what point? From what missed call? The Saints will say from the missed PI. The Rams will say from the missed facemask on Goff. If you changed the rules to allow teams to challenge any non call, the game would never have gotten to that last PI non call.

They did replay the game from the PI. This just in, the Rams won 6-3. Time to move on.

It turns out that Drew Brees' ancestors went through a period of poverty and poor nutrition, leading to his family's gene pool producing shorter men than otherwise would have been produced. Had Brees been the height he was supposed to be, he would have been able to throw the ball over the oncoming pass rush of Dante Fowler in overtime, and there would have been no interception.

As a result, the Saints fans are now petitioning to have the game replayed from 1906.

The play looks far worse in slow motion. In real time, it's no where near as clear cut as everyone is suggesting, and I can see why the refs didn't call it. That's all I've got to say on the matter. I've got more important things to think of, like SuperBowl 53. :D

See that’s what I mean. That was a totally classless homer post.

Tasteless comments about Brees and his family are repulsive.

Brees is a great player who is on the tail end of his career. He doesn’t move the way he did in 2009. His arm isn’t what it once was.

Are you being sarcastic?

I thought it was my turn.
