Didn't you hear, Bernie says it's a done deal that St. Louis will offer the Rams a better deal once they're shot down from LA. The Grubman plan was strategy. Bernie is a conspiracy theorist now.

I believe he believes himself.

I guess we can lump that promise into all the other hollow promises 2nd tierville has made and not kept.

I just don't see how a mediocre and somewhat shady offer can compel the owners to stick one of their most influential own in that place in good conscience.

ST. LOUIS • A month of heated debate culminated on Thursday with an aldermanic committee backing a proposal where St. Louis would finance $150 million of a proposed $1 billion riverfront football stadium.

The committee voted 7-2.

Now, the bill will move to a vote of the full Board of Aldermen. The board is expected to debate the matter on Friday, but procedural rules will require the board to come back next week for a special session to take a final vote.

As I said yesterday in a thread I started, this will all pass, and the offer will stand as currently constructed. The question will be, is that enough to not only block SK from LA but also give the go to the Charaiders? Remember, there are two other long term California NFL markets here, two relatively poor owners trying to get a stadium deal on a piece of land that isn't close to being built on.

Was wondering if this had already been covered and it looks like it has. So, they voted to okay paying 10% of the proposed stadium, right? The proposed stadium that isn't up to standards the NFL wants and the stadium that Kroenke will have to pay for and not have any say in? Just want to make sure I've got the story straight.

This article is incorrect, the city's contribution is half that total, 75 million.
