here are some broken tackle stats that cover the last 3 seasons.... they're interesting to look at, but in the scheme of things broken tackles, and broken tackles allowed, don't correlate well to offensive points scored or allowed... for example the 2015 rams ranked league best in broken tackles, yet 31st offensive points scored.

this chart shows a) the % of offensive plays that involved at least broken tackles (bt plays / ttl plays) and b) the % of plays that involved all broken tackles (all bt / ttl plays) - the difference being that you can have more than 1 broken tackle on any given play:

and here's a look at the 10 backs with the most touches over the last 3 years, and where they ranked in % of broken tackles on runs, catches, and combined runs/catches... so looking at gurley, his broken tackle rate on runs was at 18%-19% in 2015 and 2017, while just 13% in 2016, his down year... also worth noting, this chart indicates that gurley is tough to bring down when catching the ball in space, he ranked 5th and 4th in highest broken tackle rate in 2017 and 2016 as a receiver:

speaking of receivers, last season, among wr that saw at least 30 catches, kupp ranked 8th best in broken tackle rate, while tavon ranked 11th, woods 50th, and watkins 70th.... cooks ranked 47th catching for the pats.
