Panthers Receive $2.5B Bid To Purchase Franchise

MAR 21, 2018 7:39 PM

Bidding for the Carolina Panthers has reached $2.5 billion.

Fanatics owner Michael Rubin is one of the bidders but he's reportedly not willing to go that high. Rubin's potential partners include Sean Combs and Stephen Curry.

Sources close to the process could not confirm to ESPN that the $2.5 billion is accurate. The Panthers are valued by Forbes at $2.3 billion.

Jerry Richardson put the Panthers up for sale following an NFL investigation into allegations of sexual and racial workplace misconduct.

Yeah, I won't miss him after what he tried to do to derail the move.

It's possible a new owner might want to move the Panthers...

The Panthers will want something equal to or nicer than the Falcons new place. They’ll demand a billion dollars in public money or else they’ll move.

One of the bidders is saying the right things about keeping them there.

Money talks. Right now he might feel that way but when opportunities come up, its too tempting to go for the money. For all we know Stan may have meant what he said when he first took over majority ownership. But when they see an opportunity that all changes.
