Week 1: Rams @Niners

The first game of the returned Los Angeles Rams. Even typing that still gives me chills and smiles.

From the draft at LA Live, to RFU members attending camp and making reports, to our #1 pick golden boy sitting on the bench this game, to having Quinn and Donald playing together again, to Rams being on Hard Knocks, and getting drunk w LA Rams fans during pre-season games….it’s already fun, or something.

Game Time: Monday, September 12th at 7:20pm PST on ESPN

No TV Map needed as it’s one of our few primetime games.

Rams are currently 2.5 point favorites with a 43.5 over/under

The main Niner forum is Webzone. http://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/

Here is their thread about our game: http://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/niner ... ason-week/

Some quotes from them:

Goff being a complete bust, how many games till fisher is fired? I do not expect a lot of points on either side this opening game

Here's the trippy part.....the last time we played the LA Rams was the game after finally beating Dallas in 1994. Deion had that great pass breakup to kinda save the game. Jerry also had like 16 catches.

Last time the niners lost to the LA Rams was November 25th 1990.

Whose starting for the Rams at QB?

Niners perform well in opening games with new coaches..... "It's the same sorry ass Rams" - Ken Norton Jr right ?

I think we are definitely better than last year, are the rams? They seem like they got worse

we just gotta double team or triple team Donald... and then hope for the best.

We're underdogs against the Rams? Laughable.

Hope for a winning season and picking up some flex primetime games later in the year. When was the last time we were on MNF? Seems like an eternity.

Had to look it up. According to wiki, seems it was Dec. 31st, 1990 for the Los Angeles Rams.

The site doesn't list post-1995, so not sure about the Rams in general.

We also have a MNF top list for most lopsided games:

39 points – Los Angeles 42, Philadelphia 3 – November 3, 1975

Whoa, RA, great start to the season. I read the topic and got goosebumps. This just got real.

When in school up North, I went to a MNF game in December at Candlestick, in the grey AstroTurf days. Players were bouncing 5 times on the rink. I've never seen so many empty Southern Comfort bottles on the ground in my life. I wore blue, escaped without getting beat up, Rams won by 10. Not expecting the atmosphere at Stanford south to be as threatening.
