Or he thinks it's impossible to run it back, not realizing the Rams are going to be the first team to threepeat!!

I don't think the Rams have that much cap space right now - probably after they extend/restructure AD's contract. I think it's definitely doable if the Rams want to pay that much. But I think the bigger need for the Rams is a pass rusher (OLB) or a CB (Gilmore?).

On a one year deal…I’d be okay with that. If we’re talking 3-4 years at that number, that’s too steep.

King said he's looking for a 1 year deal. There's no funny money, voidable years or any other tricks to make the 2022 cap hit more affordable. We can't afford 11 mil for him. I'll roll with who we have and who we draft.

Los Angeles Rams fans had to be excited when the news broke that eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker & current free agent Bobby Wagner was visiting the team. The news isn't nearly as good this time around.

The Rams reportedly have no interest in paying Wagner his asking price of $11 million for one year.

Peter King of NBC Sports reported that LA is not looking to cough up that kind of money in order to bring Wagner to town. It makes sense given the 31-year-old would be a luxury addition for the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Rams currently have $8.8 million in available cap space.

The idea of staying within the NFC West has always seemed to entice Wagner, though. After all, he would have an opportunity to play the team that dropped him (Seattle Seahawks) twice a year. Wagner has reportedly visited the Baltimore Ravens and garnered interest from the Dallas Cowboys as well.

Wagner has been a model of consistency over the course of his career. Not only has he played in at least 11 games in each of his 10 NFL seasons, but he has also posted at least 100 tackles in each one. Wagner racked up 170 tackles, 5 pass breakups and 1.0 sack during the 2021 season.

Where Wagner ends up may simply come down to a decision between money and location. Taking a pay cut to join the Rams is certainly a viable option. Otherwise, he will likely accept a deal from whichever team shells out the most cash. The race does seems to be down to just a few teams.

For now, the Rams have odds set at +1100 to win Super Bowl 57, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

**When your awesome Superbowl winning QB doesn't max out to his full potential in a new contract, it's pretty hard to pay somebody new 'above market value' like the Bills did with Von Miller. Every year the Rams seem to be hampered by cap restraints and every year they find a way to bring in talent. Winning the SB certainly won't hurt that effort.

I am with Pennsylvania on this Wagner @ $11 million......as in.....
Buh-bye Bobby....and do enjoy that soft shell crab in Maryland, eh!!! :x

Ernest Jones looked good in all aspects of the game in 2021 IMO.....
solid tackling, speedy in coverage, playbook smarts (was greendot guy), football knowledge/instincts/anticipation, etc etc.......oh yeah, leadership 8-)
...................and he was a rookie in 2021!!!!! :shock2: :arrow2: :!2:

Imagine how much better EJ will be in 2022!
Plus Travin Howard was no slouch in the 2021 PostSeason(finally the meaningful payoff from a 2018 arrival).
One worries about the health of those two oft-dinged-up Ram ILB guys.......but let's remember that those two above, Jones & Howard, along with Troy Reeder helped us win SBLVI :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

.....so it's not like that 2021 Los Ramos ILB Trio are Robert Thomas/Jamie Duncan/Dexter Coakley clones eh!! :idea2: :arrow2: :!2:

If McSnead want to keep the 2022 opposing QB pressures up at the 2021 PostSeason levels, and replace the departed Von Miller and Darious Williams...
..then do just that!! IE. replace VM and DW via FA or the Draft....or promote from within!
Paying big bucks for a 170 tackles/year aging ILB is NOT going to buoy our 2022 QB Sacks/Pressure stats IMO.

Like what's the Bobby Wagner Ego sales logic here, huh?
The Bobby Wagner Sell: "So yeah...Les, listen.....with me, Bobby Wagner, backing up your AD, your guy Donald can now just rush the QB with total impunity, 100% of the time & forget about any run-stuffing responsibilities, as I, Bobby Wagner, will clean up all that running game behind AD!!!
Les, you can unleash the AD Kraken!!!!....and it'll only cost you $11 Mil per year!" :roll2:

Spend any Ram 2022 FA money (if required) on a CB or ER/OLB....that's my call.
BTW....I wouldn't argue if they looked at a OG in Free Agency or prioritized one in the Draft either eh! Just FYI. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

As always, JMO.
